With deep sadness, the West and SouthEast REALTORS® of the Valley announces Matthew Ortega, Vice President of Government Affairs, passed away on Friday, July 9.
Matthew joined the association in 2015 and was loved by WeSERV team members and volunteers. His infectious charm, charisma, and energy were felt throughout the association’s hallways and each member he came across. His wisdom for government affairs and his countless stories on dealing with life’s hurdles were some of his best qualities. Spending hours in his office listening to his stories was not uncommon for many. He will be missed by all those who had the pleasure of calling him a colleague and friend.
Memorial services will be held at San Rafael Catholic Church in Concho, Arizona, on Saturday, July 31, 2021. A Rosary will be held at 10 a.m., followed by a graveside service at the Concho Catholic Cemetery, where he will be buried alongside his beloved mother, Bettina Ortega.
