Helping our WeSERV Family We created WeMAR C.A.R.E.S. in 2010 with the direction of the Board of Directors. Through the specific leadership of 2008 WeMAR Past President Laura Palmer and a group of very dedicated volunteers, WeMAR C.A.R.E.S. and its primary funding source, Sparkling Nights, was created.
REALTORS® by their very nature are giving, caring members of the community who devote countless hours to causes and events for the benefit of the public. Our members are no different, and we worked very hard supporting several projects as an Association including “REALTORS® Helping Senior Day” among other events.
Our Board of Directors determined that while REALTORS® were involved in a lot of charitable efforts on behalf of the public, there was not a program dedicated to REALTORS® in need. This thought became the brainchild of the WeMAR C.A.R.E.S. program and the Sparkling Nights event.
WeMAR C.A.R.E.S. exists to provide much needed financial support to REALTORS® and Affiliate members, and their families when medical emergencies or death occurs through no fault of their own.
Through the generous assistance of the Arizona Association of REALTORS®, all funds are held and distributed through the Arizona REALTOR® Disaster Assistance Foundation (ARDAF).
Since it's inception, WeMAR C.A.R.E.S. has helped over 60 members during their difficult times. Our fundraising efforts have raised over $112,000. In 2016, we were able to assist 18 members. We've already helped four members in the first quarter of 2017, and more will apply. We need your help to continue to support our Association family.
You can do so in many ways; from joining the Golf Tournament and Motor Sports Group workgroups to helping coordinate fundraising events and efforts, attending related events, enrolling in Fry's Community Rewards, or by donating money in memory of a client or loved one. We appreciate your assistance in strengthening WeMAR C.A.R.E.S. and making a difference for our WeSERV family.
If you or a fellow member you know might benefit from this fund, apply for review and approval. All requests for assistance from WeMAR C.A.R.E.S. are entirely confidential. Recipient profiles used only with the permission of the recipient. Five WeSERV members (one Affiliate member) and the WeSERV CEO as an ex officio member comprise the WeMAR C.A.R.E.S. Administrative Committee.
