The Council will receive updates from Government Affairs task forces and workgroups. Where appropriate, this may result in discussion and input from Council participants.

Council discussions, considerations, and input are directed by the WeSERV Legislative Policies as approved by the WeSERV Board of Directors. Influenced by Aristotelian Principles, Augustinian thought, and Aquinas’ ethics in politics, WeSERV Legislative Policies are dedicated to REALTOR® efforts as guardians of personal property rights and the right to private contract. WeSERV members, by the nature of their business, preserve and defend those rights for themselves, their clients and the communities they serve.

  • Participants should be prepared to engage in a thoughtful and reasoned discussion based on organizational principles held in WeSERV Governing Documents including Policies, By-Laws and Legislative Policies
  • Display the virtues of discernment, prudence, temperance, justice, and fortitude
  • Provide a platform to encourage WeSERV members to engage in political conversation related to WeSERV stated principles, Legislative Policy and the actions of government
  • Encourage task force and workgroup participation
  • Discuss issues of concern to WeSERV membership and possible actions to be taken
